The Education and Research Council (O&O Council) is the codetermination body in the field of university education and research at UMC Utrecht. The council consists of medical students, BMW/BMS and KGW as well as staff of the UMC Utrecht. Together they look at education and research policy. The dean must seek prior approval or advice on a number of decisions. This is regulated in the Higher Education and Scientific Research Act. At least five times a year, the O&O Council consults with the dean and vice dean of the Faculty of Medicine on O&O topics.
