Committees and Working groups
Our Committees
Mebiose has a lot of committees that organize various activities/events within the association. Committees usually meet once a week to meet and socialize. All committees will introduce themselves to you below. Would you also like to join a committee? Then keep an eye on our socials, because committees change several times a year.
Activities Committee
The Activities Committee is the committee that organizes activities for all members. They also organize a number of regular activities, such as the Batavierenrace.
The Booksales Committee
The Booksales Committee is the support of the vice-ab Actis and therefore answers all questions regarding book sales.
Foreign Excursion Committee
The Foreign Excursion Committee organizes a foreign excursion once every two years. The next one will take place in April 2026.
Careerday Committee
The carreer day committee exists of members from Mebiose and the U.L.S.V. Amino, which organise a carreer day once every two years for both programs. The next one will take place in 2026.
Lustrum Committee
Since Mebiose will turn 40 this year there is an extra special Lustrum Committee which exists once every five years. The Committe organizes two weeks of fun and activities in february for Mebioses birthday.
First Year Committee
The First Year Committee is the committee specifically for first year activities. They also design the Mebiose hoodie every year.
Party Committee
Party committee Gloek organizes all of Mebiose’s parties and get-togethers. With great pleasure they pour your drinks behind the bar.
Gala Committee
The Gala Committee organizes the unforgettable Mebiose gala in february. The gala is known as one of the most fun and biggest activities of the year.
Yearbook Committee
Each year the Yearbook Committee designs the greatest yearbook containing the best memories. It is published in February.
Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is the support of the Fiscus of Mebiose. It checks the accountancy, administrations and settlements.
Mastercommittee
The Mastercommittee organizes all kinds of activities just for masterstudents of the GSLS.
Tight Junction
The Tight Junction writes Mebiose’s association magazine five times a year. Each edition guarantees great reading pleasure!
Weekendcommittee
The Weekend Committee forms once every two years to organize the Mebioseweekend in may! The next one will take place in may 2027. Read below the introduction text of the former Weekend Committee
Our Working groups
In addition to committees, Mebiose also has several working groups. You join a working group if you are asked to do so by the board, as a working group supports a particular function or task of a particular board member.
wInternet
The working group Internet is responsible for keeping an eye on the website. Read their piece below!
wALVIS
Working Group Advice, Guidance, Vision, Innovation and Structure’’ is the support of the Praeses of Mebiose. It also advises on the Multiyear Policy Plan and reservations.
Archive
In a board year, there are always many documents, as well as great memories made. To ensure that these do not disappear, working group ‘Archive’ ensures that they are properly stored.
Firstyear Weekend
Working Group ‘Firstyear Weekend’ organizes the Firstyear Weekend every year together with the Chair. This weekend is filled with all kinds of activities and bonding moments for the new first-year students.
Working group ‘External Relations’
‘Working group ‘External Relations’ is the support body of the vice-Treasurer. This working group gives advice on the various activities within the career orientation, but of course also on our external collaborations.
Charity
Working group ‘Charity’, together with the Fiscus, organizes the Charity Week in November for a self-chosen charity. This week has a lot of fun and often results in a lot of profit for the Charity.
Green Future Promoters
The Green Future Promoters (GFP) is the sustainability Working Group of Mebiose. They try to increase the sustainability of the study programme in various ways.
Canonshot
To properly capture a successful activity, you obviously need a good photo team! This team is formed by working group Cannonshot, who can be recognized at each activity by their green caps and camera in hand.
Chronicle
Once every five years, at the same time as the Lustrum of Mebiose, the chronicle is written. This book summarizes the last five years of the association and also briefly describes the entire history. The next one will be made in 2025-2026.
Masterplan
Working Group ‘Master Plan’ supports the vice-Praeses in the issues of co-determination of the GSLS masters. Several times a year they meet to update on these issues.
Education
Working Group ‘Education’ supports the vice-Praeses in all matters related to education. The vice-Praeses can always reach out to them for help or when in need of students perspective.
